Hulu is co-owned by NBC Universal, News Corp. and Providence Equity Partners
Hulu is free and legal through an advertising supported model.
* Videos are available for unlimited streaming; watch favorite shows and clips over and over, for free
* Videos contain fewer ads than on TV. Advertisements appear during normal commercial breaks
* Hulu acquires the rights to distribute its videos, making them available to users legally

As another poster already mentioned, Hulu is an NBC Universal enterprise; all the video on Hulu is owned by the corporation, which has the right to legally post it on the website for entertainment purposes.
It would be illegal for a website user to download any of that video content and distribute it for sale elsewhere--doing so is a Federal offense. In other words, don't download it and burn it and try to sell bootlegs. Chances are that the videos are also encrypted so stealing them can't, or shouldn't happen. But visiting Hulu and watching perfectly legal.
I didn't see it, but about a month ago, my husband who watches Hulu exclusively while online, he told me on the Grand Rapids Press that Hulu will soon be gone. It's still here yet, so does anyone know anything about this losing hulu soon?
