What is the meaning of boys name Kharter, and where did you find the information? I have heard that is a Muslim/Islamic name.

I tried four different websites with name definitions in several languages and they all popped up name not found for Kharter.
Hi Joan. Check at your public library. Ask the Reference Librarian to help you locate information on just what you asked for, here: the origins of first names. Tell him/her you were told it might be an Islamic name, (just remember, it may not be Islamic at all and it could even be a family last name the parents decided to use as a first name).
Since it isn't coming up on a cursory search, it is probably an alternate spelling for "Carter". Perhaps the mother was using a family surname but trying to make it more individual or ethnic sounding. I suppose only the parents would know for sure.
