Cleaning Eye Glasses

To remove hairspray and greasy perspiration, I use rubbing alcohol. It cleans the lenses really well and it can be used on either plastic or glass lenses.

Use isopropyl alcohol (labeled 93%), not rubbing alcohol (labeled 70%). The latter contains unhelpful additives.

Well a bought a 1000ml bottle of 99.9% pure life isopropyl alcohol, mixed 50/50 with water with a tiny drop of washing up liquid as recommended by others for cleaning my glasses, results still smeary lenses and a glare. I use a proper cloth, what am i doing wrong?

I would use straight isopropyl alcohol. Or possible wash the glasses with soap to get rid of whatever grease or streaky material is not cleaning off easily, then use the alcohol to make them clean.

If you are still having trouble, perhaps talk to the eye clinic where you purchased your glasses and see what they recommend.

Good luck!
