This is also great for odor prevention. I used newspaper all the time at home, but I'd forgotten about it down here! Thanks for the reminder!

If I have pan drippings that shouldn't be poured in the sink I put some paper from my shredder basket in a coffee can or mayo jar and pour the grease in that.

We need to try this. I get tired of stepping into icky wet spots when we take the bag out of the can to finish filling it.
