German Skillet Dinner

Diamond Post Medal for All Time! 5,887 Posts

I guess you can call this an international meal. :) I really think the only thing that makes it German is the sauerkraut!

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 can sauerkraut (16oz.)
  • 1 1/2 cup Minute rice, cooked
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 can tomato sauce (16oz.) (more if needed)

Directions:

In electric skillet, melt butter. Spread sauerkraut over butter. Sprinkle with rice, then onion. Top all with ground beef, salt, pepper and tomato sauce. Cook, covered, over low heat, about 250 degrees F, for 25-30 minutes.

Sounds delish but do you mean tomato sauce or puree? In UK sauce is what I believe you call ketchup. I shall give it a try, sounds great.
