Repairing the Finish on a Sink Pop-up Sink Stopper?

The paint or finish on my mom's bathroom sink pop-up plunger got removed by Drano and bleach. How can I repair, paint, or fix it?

You should be able to buy that part in the plumming section of Home Depot, Loews or any hardware store. Most are just plastic.

If your mom is going to continue using those harsh chemicals in the bathroom sink rather than purchasing a new one, unless you purchase a new one without a finish, you could lightly sand the surface with steel wool and spray with silver colored rustoleum paint that holds up well to water. You will then always have the steel wool and paint available to redo if necessary.

Try silver nail polish on that surface. It sticks to about anything and will last through water, etc. Easy to repeat as needed.
