My kitchen cabinets are maple wood painted alabaster white. My floors are slate in charcoal grey. My counter tops are Carara marble (white with grey veins). I have stainless steel appliances and chrome faucets and knobs and crystal chandeliers over my island. There is also stacked stone (ledgestone) in black/charcoal grey on the back of my island, the side where the stools are. What color for the walls?

Why not try red, blue or yellow. They go well with all those colors. Get paint sample cards to determine what shade will bring it all together.
Red. Red red red red red red red. Did I mention red? :-)
Seriously, this is a terrific slate to work with and you could go just about any direction you want. Red, green, purple, blue, yellow or even a safe medium taupe would look great.
I usually don't suggest white or gray, but a high gloss paint that picks up the white on gray might please you. Have you considered glass tiles? This would be so much fun. You can keep the look or go with color, any color. Have fun.
Red would be nice. If you don't like red, how about a deep warm yellow, an ocher yellow. Fall colors would be nice . It should be a warm color to warm up all that grey.
It sounds like you have an elegent kitchen. I would go with a sage or a warm brownish gold color. I would not go with a "bright" color.
I vote red or a dreamy creamy steel blue! Sounds nice!
