Making Your Own Sugar
If you don't have decorator sugar, you can make some by placing 1/4 cup granulated sugar into a resealable plastic food bag. Add the desired food color, one drop at a time. Seal bag and knead food color into sugar by hand. To eliminate speckles of color in the sugar, continue to knead sugar mixture until color is even.
Very, very easy. Put sugar in a jar with a lid, add drops of food coloring and shake, shake, shake. keep adding drops until you have the tint you want. If it is a combined color (red and yellow to make orange, red and blue to make purple, etc.) combine the colors before adding to the sugar or you will have some red and some yellow rather than orange.
Sorry this is so late.
I put white sugar in baggie add food color drops as needed and seal baggie, then roll with a rolling pin. I have done this for years. It is cheaper than buying colored sugar.
