My husband uses sharpies a lot for his job and he showed me that if you write or draw exactly over the same marks with another sharpie and then use a Clorox wipe or something of that nature to try to erase it all, all of the marks will disappear. Not a joke, especially when you find that your 3 year old got ahold of a permanent marker on your old wood paneling and laminate flooring!

Although I thought me retracing my sons art work would only make it worse, it actually erased ALL of them when done in small sections! Worth a shot, at least, before trying products that could possibly ruin the surface of what was drawn on. Hope this helps!

I keep a bottle of Awesome from the dollar store on hand, used it on my fridge when dd decided to "decorate" it for me. Worked great. I could see it working.

I haven't tried it on the fridge, but acetone, or acetone nail polish works on a lot of things. Be careful though, acetone is poisonous and flammable.

Magic Eraser will not remove sharpie. Neither will bleach. I'm going to go dig up some nail polish remover and try that next though!
