Does anyone remember a face cleanser named Listerex? It was popular about fifteen years ago and then just disappeared. I'd love to know if it is still being made and if so where I can purchase it? Thank you.

I believe this prduct had hexachlophene in it which the FDA pulled for safety concerns back then.
I believe you are thinking of a product in a green bottle called phisohex which was replaced by phosiderm, available by doctor's rx.
I used it for years and would love to find it again! I believe that last time I used it was 1983.
YES I LOVED THA SCRUB....BOUGHT IT AT PIC-N-SAVE IN JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA. IT WAS A ORANGE COLOR SCRUB AND VERY FINE BUT MY FACE WAS SO EXFOLIATED AND CLEAR AND SHINNY. SMOOTH AND SOFT. RONI
Listerex, was amazing, it really worked, they could have used another ingredient if FDA had issues. But like everything else that works.
I LOVED Listerex. Try ACURE brightening facial scrub. Its the closest Ive come to it!
no you're wrong.....LISTEREX; as w/others on site, used it for years and only thing that kept my acne in check!
There was a product called Listerex. I used it
I used to use it a lot then I moved to a different city and could only find it in one store then about a year later it disappeared. That was the best working scrub.
Ive been trying to find as well. It was mild and I had the most beautiful skin using this daily. Was very upset when it was removed after years of use!!!! Ive been searching for from time to time so if anyone knows where I can find it, appreciated!!!
Wrong! It was "listerex!" Don't correct people with WRONG information!
Thats too bad because it worked maybe the FDA made a mistake theyve been known to make mistakes! I wish they bring it back anyway it worked. Was my little secret
No its completely different it was in a little bottle kind of opaque green liquid gritty and it was about the size of a half pint and look like one of those bottles but it was plastic
I also used it thru highschool from 80-82. Worked great '. Wonder why it got pulled?
It had micro beads which were banned for environmental reasons.
Geez, I like something and just like that its gone! Thank you for answering. Mary
Yes, but Phisoderm was like that too, and they came up with a replacement. They also renamed it, but the bottle says right on it "formerly Phisoderm" or something like that.
No, Listerex was the best exfoliate. Phisoderm was prescribed for infections...inphentigo?
I think that was put out by the Listerine company. I too am looking for a replacement for it.
The St. Ives apricot scrub for problem skin is also great! I use that now. But I would love if they put Listerex back on the market.
I would LOVE to find Listerex again. I kept an empty bottle for many years, hoping to find it. I believe it was a Procter and Gamble product.
The company was Pfizer!! Please find a replacement
I remember listerex I had horrible acne in middle school and my older sister purchased it for me and it worked. I have not been able to find it sense, anything that works well is pulled. It was sold at Eckerd drug store.
I think I found it ... or something just like it!! Check out Garnier SkinActive Clean+ Invigorating Face Scrub. They have several types, but the green one is so much like the green Listerex Scrub!
years ago i called the company that made it to ask if they had a surplus stored anywhere and they said no. The closest thing I have found is clean n clear in the blue tube..not the one that says blackhead remover. I tried to mimic Listerex by following CNC up using gold Listerene as an astringent but it was harsh.
Yes, Listerex was awesome! It says something about a product that 20 years after it left the market, people still remember it and praise it. For me, it was the only thing that cleared my skin. I could see a difference the moment I rinsed it off of my face.
I remember using Listerex. And it was the best thing for my face. I never had acne. My aunt used it and I tried it for the first time when I was babysitting.
Listerex was awesome!
The best product ever! The green was the only product that worked for me. I would use it today at 57 years old.
Here's some info on the Listerex (link below).
Maybe one of these other products can help do the same (I don't know) I'm sorry, I've not ever tried it, but it seems the Listerex scrub had salicylic acid in it - which many many products and scrubs today have that now.

I totally agree with "Anonymous" (above) who said this:

It smells the same, which is what I really loved about Listerex. I have found the new product (Garnier) in RiteAid stores. Try it! They have some "charcoal" products that I like also.
Oh how I wish they still made listerex! I used it in my teenage days of the 70s. My skin still craves it. Never have been able to find anything that compares to it!
I remember it. It was lime-green colored gel with lots of little scrubbing beads. It was in an opaque plastic bottle and you could see the gel through it. After using it, my face felt cool, it shrunk my pores, and my face was shiny clean. I haven't found anything close to it. It was my go-to whenever my face started to break out. I miss it...
I remember listerex scrub I used it every day and loved it Ive often wondered if they still make it it just disappeared
Listerex was orange, fine sand facial cleanser. Great stuff. Never used pHisohex.
I used Listerex for years and absolutely loved it. Of course they took it off the market for whatever reason, and I really wish theyd bring it back. That scrub made my face look incredible.
YES. It was a green scrub in a clear plastic flat wide bottle and it really worked. It did just disappear one day Listerex scrub. I used it every time I washed my face. Im 60 and still alive. I think they wanted to bring in proactive to the market so they bought them out. All about the $$
I used it in the 70s and loved it. I been looking for it for years.
