Quick, moist and any herbs will work, fresh or dried.
Small Loaf:
Large Loaf:
*If using fresh, double the herbs. I used basil only and used 1 1/2 Tbsp.
Mix water, shortening, sugar, salt, milk, butter, and herbs. Slowly add half of the flour then add the yeast. Mix until all flour is well blended. Pour into well greased small loaf pan. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees F. For the large pan recipe I would bake in two small pans or bake one hour in one large loaf pan. Delicious warm slathered with butter!

Sounds delicious, but shortening is listed in the directions, but not in the ingredient list. Thanks.
Whoops, forget the shortening, there is not any just the butter. Guess I am so used to using shortening in my regular bread I just listed it by habit. Thanks. Ann
