Removing a Chemical Odor from New Shoes?

I need help removing a moth ball type smell from new sandals that are from China. They are made of fabric over a type of plastic. I have Febrezed 2x and hung up to air. Please help.

Try putting them in a bag with either, bread, potatoes charcoal or pine chips.

Why don't you try washing them? If they are fabric and plastic, you should be able to use soap and water on them.

Don't know if this would solve your problem, but it couldn't hurt to try. Put Bounce Fabric Softener sheets inside the shoes.

I put 2 in each shoe every night inside my shoes to help keep odor-free.
