I wonder if you could use hair spray like you would on clothing?

If you're going to use hair spray I would first try it in a spot you can't see so you can make sure you don't damage the color. Actually the first thing I would do is call Vera Bradley Co. or the store you bought it at and ask if they have contact information for the company if you don't want to take a chance on damaging the bag.
