My washer started to smoke and it stopped spinning; what do I do?

You can do one of three things:
1) Have the electric parts that burned out (including the motor?) replaced.
2) Buy a new washing machine.
3) Stop buying cigarettes, and make the machine go to smokers rehab.

Is it smoke or steam? I had a similar problem with our washer, turns out it was the thermostat malfunctioning. Either way it might be time to call a repair man.

First unplug it and then call a repairman.

First check the water level. This can happen if their are too many clothes for the water. Then call a repair man.
