My Sears washing machine spins, but won't agitate.

Does the motor run in agitate? If so, then you may have worn nylon dogs inside the agitator itself. You have to disassemble the agitator to see them. They are made of nylon and wear out. I can't remember if there are three or 4 of them at the moment. It's a fairly easy and inexpensive fix if that is the problem. Its a little hard to explain unless you have fixed a few. What happens is the drive shaft "agitates" back and forth and the dogs or cams won't catch to make the agitator oscillate. This can all be done from the top of your machine if it is a traditional top loader.
