I bought a nice wooden frame with a colander of apples in it for 50 cents a couple of years back. Today I finally had the time to fix it up properly by adding ribbon, buttons, fabric scraps, and an old glove. It turned out really nice.
Feel free to copy the idea. I believe in sharing the love!

I love doing crafts/projects like these! So much cheaper than buying an embellished frame at the store, more fun, and more personable! You can theme a frame to go with any photo! They make great gifts, too, and one can even sell them for a little extra cash! :)
You are right. I find that a lot of craft fairs do "repurposed" items, which is still "considered crafts". By spending your money at thrift shops, you also save money and as a bonus, support local folks.
Some of the other things I have done is using an upside down rustic colender, stringing dental floss from the edges and hanging measuring spoons, mini graters, and other cool things. That went over the fridge and every time I opened the freezer door, it jingled.
Used jewelry can make frames for photos and mirrors, redone pins, hair pieces and more.
Fabric from jeans, dresses can be made into pillows, quilts, and more. I love to save money, so thanks for the kudos. Sandi/PBP
