Terro Ant Killer

Bronze Feedback Medal for All Time! 129 Feedbacks

We had ants. They flew, they crawled, and they took over my kitchen. I tried everything I could think of, commercial sprays, home made solutions, and nothing worked. I store everything in jars, made sure no dirty dishes or food ever remained out, but yet they came.

An internet friend told me to try Terro Ant Killer. I checked it out online but thought it sounded too good to be true. While browsing in the store one day I ran across it and was surprised to find out it was only a little over $2.00 so I purchased some. I put little blobs of it on small squares of foil and sat it out for them. (If you buy this product please read the instructions, because once you put it out it will attract all the ants to it. They eat it, and take it back to the nest. Had I of not read the instructions I probably would of killed them while they were eating it.) But I did allow them to eat it, and it seemed thousands came. After eating their fill they went back to their nest to feed the others. Within two days, every ant was gone!

I am going to have to look for this stuff. Thank you for the tip! We didn't have ants for a long time, but this summer the little tiny ones came in. Nothing has worked so far, so I'll be glad to get some of this stuff.

Perhaps because we had a longer than usual dry early summer this year, we saw a lot more ants than we normally do. We used Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth, but I admit that it's kinda messy to use around kitchen countertops as it leaves a powdery trail everywhere you put it.

It will not hurt any food product, nor any person or pet and I've always felt very safe using it. It does a good job, but I don't think you can get by without it at any time in order to be free of the ant problem. You just keep it in place to avoid ants at any time.

I'm going to give the Terro a good workout the next time we see ants. Now that I know it's not harmful to people or pets either.

Thank you for for sharing your experience and solution to a problem that most of us have to deal with sometime or other.

Found this on another post & thought it might be helpful:
"When someone suggested Terro liquid ant bait and we found it was just Borax and sugar."
