These adorable aliens are a great way to use up left-over craft supplies. A few pom-poms, chenille stems, and googly eyes is all you need to whip a little critter up. Well, those items and lots of good, old white glue!
Approximate Time: 10-15 minutes
Supplies:
- 3-inch pom-poms (any colors)
- 1/2 inch pom-poms (any colors)
- 1/2-1 inch googly eyes
- chenille stems (any color)
- craft bits (paper, foam, beads)
- scissors
- white glue
Instructions:
These cute critters came from some extra craft supplies I had laying around. You can make your alien however you want, but here are two designs that were popular with kids.
Green Alien Picture
- 2 - large green pom poms
- 2 - small green pom-poms
- 2 - googly eyes
- 2 - orange chenille stems cut into 5 pieces
- 1 - sliver red foam
- white glue
- Glue one googly eye on a small green pom-pom. Repeat with other eye. Glue small pom-pom to a large pom-pom for the head. Glue the head to the body. Let dry.
- Twist the ends of the chenille stems into little circles that look like hands and feet. Glue three legs and two arms on the alien's body. Glue foam sliver onto head as mouth. Let dry.
Pink Alien Picture
- 3 - large pink pom-poms
- 4 - small white pom-poms
- 2 - small pink pom-poms
- 2 - small red pom-poms
- 2 - googly eyes
- 4 - white chenille stems
- 1/2 - red chenille stem
- Glue one googly eye to one small, red pom-pom. Repeat with other eye. Fold the chenille stems in half and cut so that you have eight stems.
- Glue four white pom-poms onto four chenille stems. Glue two pink pom-poms onto two chenille stems. Glue the three pink pom-poms together. Let dry.
- Glue the red, googly eye, pom-pom onto the end of a chenille stem. Repeat with other eye. Glue very well so that they eyes will stay when doll stands.
- Glue two white pom-pom legs to the bottom part of the alien's body. Glue two pink pom-pom arms to the middle of the alien's body. Glue two white pom-pom arms to the middle part of the alien's body. Let everything dry if needed.
- Glue eye stems to the top pink pom-pom. Bend the stem a little as a base and glue well so the eyes stand up. Twist the red chenille stem into a circle as the mouth and glue into place. Let dry.
