With gardening season upon us here in Nebraska, it puts canning and freezing produce in mind. We put up a lot of corn at one time and one thing to remember is to cool your vegetables or meat out well before bagging it. Lay it in single layers as much as possible in the freezer so it will freeze quickly.
Piling the bags in layers while it is warm in the freezer prevents the inner bags from freezing quickly in order to preserve freshness. I go back the next day and re-stack the bags. You can use the racks from your oven to separate the layers. Anything that will allow the cool air to circulate around the bags.
