Mexican Herb that Works like Beano?

There is a Mexican herb that diminishes bean side effects in humans and adds a hickory flavor. Does anyone know what this inexpensive "beano" herb is called?

This link is a study of many of these "solutions" to beans and gas, but what it comes down to is not soaking, not adding a specific veggie or baking soda. It is to eat 1/2 cup of beans for one to two weeks, building up your gut bacteria. 70% return to normal pre-bean gassiness. This link shows some testing of various methods. health.clevelandclinic.org/.../

Also, this NIH link says that eating beans for those over 70 yrs old is the most important diatary predictor of long life. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/.../
