A co-worker shared this great tip with me. She, like so many of us, has trouble shoving pills down her cats, so she asks the vets for liquid forms of any medications. She then mixes the liquid medication with a little wet food (which they don't get normally) and they eat it right up thinking it's a great treat. The other cats get a little plain wet food in another room and they're none the wiser. Brilliant!
She said that for antibiotics she usually ends up with the pink bubblegum flavored Amoxacillin they give children and the cats don't seem to taste it. :)

Thanks for reminding me of my cat, Chance, who required 2 DL-Meth pills per day, & every morning let me gently shove them down his throat.
Perhaps mixing liquid meds w/ wet catfood works for some kitties. My one remaining cat right now ignores all wet food, preferring dry kibble & treats. Fortunately, she needs no meds at this time, since I know from experience that forcing liquid meds into a cat's mouth usually results in incredible drool that just excretes the stuff. Not to mention making me feel like a tyrant in the process.
The only problem is that the liquid form of medications can be a lot more expensive. A supply of pills that may cost $5 would cost $50 in liquid form and not last as long.
Yes, but if you can't get your pet to take pills, it might be worth the extra expense. Good to remember as an option anyway.
