Dear June, Have you tried spraying with hair spray? This should loosen the ink and you can either wash as usual or use a sponge with cleaner on it. Sewingmamma

supplies rubbing alcohol cotton balls
Take alcohol and put some on a cotton ball Use a cotton ball: do not poor alcohol on the animal or the ink will run Do not soak it in the alcohol to where the entire cotton ball is wet or it will also make the ink run also Dab it on the ink stain You may need to rub it in once you get majority of the stain out if it's not all gone Try on a SMALL spot first

I have had good luck with this technique. It could be that the ink has stained the item too badly to be removed. I hope you are able to find something else that works.
