Does anyone have any suggestions for places to take a cheap weekend vacation in Washington state?

Stella, you could come to the Tri Cities. I don't know what sort of weekend getaway or scenery you're looking for but there are wineries here with taste testing tours, three rivers with boating and fishing, small galleries and museums, some cute shops and restaurants and very uncrowded peace and quiet and there are some really nice and not too expensive places to stay here in Richland. Oh, and if you're so inclined I could prepare a tasty simple meal sometime during your excursion here. ;-)
Would help to know where you are as to not advise you to go there :) But I like to take the ferry to Poulsbo and spend time in the shops and walking by the water. Or If you like antiquing, Snohomish is a quaint place to be.
