Could you place a multi-colored rug on the floor, & pick up 2 of the accent colors from the rug? Then you could use the accent colors in pillows for the couches & chairs, curtains, etc. If you can, a similar rug in the dining area can pull the rooms together.
How about some interesting art work or wallhangings for the walls? Cushions in contrasting colors? Vases?

Depending on the shade of red, a chocolate brown would be nice. (02/03/2009)

What about using beige, red and beige look great together. (02/04/2009)

Gold, cream, or tan would work nicely. Window treatments and flooring need to be in the same color palette. (02/05/2009)

It depends on the shade of red. If the couches are a deep shade of red you want to stay with something lighter on the floor, like a tan, light gray, light blue. For the walls I would choose the following: tan rug with taupe walls; light gray rug with light gold walls; light blue rug with off white walls. For window treatments, pick a floral or plaid design that has the colors of the couches, rug, and wall color in them. (02/05/2009)

If it is a ruby red color you can use any combo of the jewel colors, royal blue, emerald green, gold, silver, purple, etc. Let us know what you decide. (02/05/2009)
