Concerning dryer sheets, can an odor build up on your clothes?

Dryer sheets are full of oils that trap fragrances; their own and others, like BO. They also dry out your skin when used too often. (dermatologist says this) Not sure what you can do other than use a bleach, or color safe bleach to break up the oils in the fabric.
We Americans like our sweet perfume smells.
A lot of time we think more is better concerning soaps, detergents, fabric softeners, and dryer sheets so that our laundry will smell and look like it does in the commercials.
I've learned that more is not better from experience in doubling up on detergents, fabric softeners and dryer sheets.
Laundry starts to develop a sour smell because it never gets a chance to rinse out the old soap and that old soap or fabric softener or dryer sheet softener starts to sour.
There is nothing wrong with using the products we love, we just need to remember to follow the directions and make sure our laundry is rinsed properly each time they go through the wash.
