There is a large buildup of hairspray where my head rests on the back of my chair. Does anyone know best way to remove from leather or vinyl?

I used cool water ...to loosen it then I used my fingernail..to scrape it ty hen used leather cleaner and rubbed it in
Slowly coming off.just keep doing .till its off
