Kat (Siamese Mix)

Kat is a 3 year old half Siamese and domestic black shorthair. Kat was abandoned and left outdoors by her previous owner after the family decided she was too much of a hassle to care for. I found her huddled up in my birdbath, shivering cold after being caught in a downpour of freezing rain in November. I took her in, warmed her up and since then she has warmed my heart with tons of love and affection.

Kat is a daring acrobat who likes to weasel her way into small and high places. She likes to get on top of open doors and bookshelves and has even managed to find her way on top of my curtain rods. Needless to say, she was so much of a mischief maker I was always yelling "CAT!", every time she got into trouble, hence her 'formal' name of Kat. ;)

Since Kat was denied a proper diet and care when she was with her previous owners, her growth was stunted, so her small size makes her look like a kitten.

As much as I love dogs and horses, I readily admit to being a "cat person". I've never in my almost 77 years found 2 just alike in personality although some come close to being alike when it comes to agility and curiosity. They love to explore every nook and cranny of every tiny spot they can wedge them- selves into. They do show a considerable amount of calming down as they get older, but while they're still young, they are just the bravest little adventurers on the planet.

Your "Kat" is beautiful and I'm just glad you found her and made her your own pal. They add so very much to our lives.

Thank you for sharing her with us.

Kat is a very pretty girl! And so lucky you found her & took her in! Sound like a Siamese too, with her curiosity & tendency to climb. I can just see you yelling "Cat!" at her too!

We have a cat who was just like that when he was young. He'd fly through the house, hit the couch, climb the curtain, bounce off the top & hit the couch running again - heaven help anyone who was sitting there at the time! We nearly got rid of him, he was so wild!

He drove me absolutely nuts & I was also always yelling "Cat!". We nearly named him that also, but since I was always shaking my head & saying he was just like the Tasmanian Devil (fromt he cartoons), so we named him Taz. He was a couple of years old when he ripped his tongue nearly completely out during one of his misadventures & that seemed to finally calm him a bit. Now he's just a frail old man of 16.
