Removing a Fold Line from a Plastic Stencil?

I have a stencil that was stored folded over. It is clear plastic or perhaps celluloid. Is there any way to remove the fold so the stencil lays flat on the wall? I now have it laying between pages in a heavy book, but it is not working.

I would put it between two towels and take an iron and get it soft. Don't keep the iron on it too long or you will melt it. Just hold it on for a few seconds and check it.

The iron is a good idea. Might try blow dryer while smoothing with a bone tool or big spoon.
