My Bradford pear tree is 10 years old. This was the first summer there were abundant berries on it. There were so many that when they fell, they stained an area on my driveway 15" x 5". How often does the tree produce berries that cause this problem?

Once the tree begins bearing, you can expect to see the mini-pears on a yearly basis, like any other fruit. Like orchard fruit, the crop may occasionally be reduced by frosts at a crucial time, or other stress on the tree.

I have a Bradford pear tree that is ten years old. It has never had any berries on it and this winter it is loaded with berries which are causing quite a mess. What caused it to have berries now and will I have this every year from now on?
