Use 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Combine thawed potatoes, shredded cheese, and sliced onions. Dissolve chicken bouillon cube in 1/2 cup boiling water, and pour over potatoes. Dot with butter or margarine. Bake, covered, in 375 degree F oven for 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Stir gently once or twice. If desired, top with American cheese, then bake 1-2 minutes more until melted.
