For the first time, I am growing heirloom tomatoes. Some are supposed to be green even though fully ripened. So, my question is, if they are green when fully ripened, how do I tell when they're ripe? They are doing beautifully right now, I just hope I pick them at the right time and not too early. Thanks for your help.

I could be wrong but I think they get a slightly red cast to them when they are ripe. You could call your extension service for your county and ask them.
