At school we have a sophomore banquet (prom for sophomores pretty much) and I am head of decorations. I just need some ideas that aren't related to Mardi Gras. Our colors will probably be red, silver, black, and white.

I don't have any ideas right off the bat. But if I were in your position, I would look to the movie Phantom of the Opera. There's a lengthy scene in the movie which takes place at a masquerade ball (accompanied by a powerful song called Masquerade). Viewing the scene may set you on the road to inspiration.
@chs10 Thank you for your feedback and yes we have thought to look at phantom of the opera but the only problems we have had are finding things we can replicate.
