Any kind of oil will fix a squeaky door. I was visiting my young daughter a few years ago and one of her doors was really squeaky. It was fairly early in the morning and she was still asleep so I couldn't ask her what she had to eliminate the problem. I went to her pantry and picked up a can of Pam cooking spray and sprayed the door hinges. It worked like a charm.

I am sorry to say, but using cooking oil for quieting a squeaky door is not good after some time as a cooking oil will get thicker and get sticky, therefore will glue the system. Instead, you may use the lead of a pencil.
Just sharpen a black pencil and get the black lead dust. Remove the door from its hinges, pour the lead dust in it and replace the door! No more noise, but some black dust on the floor. Another idea is to put some talcum power. Lead and talc are mineral, not organic like cooking oil.
Editor's Note: Pencil "lead" is graphite, also a mineral.
Cooking oil works, but it attracts bugs!
Just go to the local hardware store and buy a can of WD-40 and spray it on - no fuss no muss
