We purchased a Gaggia New Baby espresso machine as a gift from WholeLatteLove.com. Based on the advice at CoffeeGeek.com and Home-Barista.com it appeared that this was a solid choice for a relatively inexpensive machine which could produce good results at home.
Unfortunately, the machine arrived broken. Rather than brewing, the water filled the inside of the machine and went all over the counter. After containing the flood we arranged to have the brand new machine exchanged for a new one.
The initial order from WholeLatteLove.com went very well, but accomplishing the exchange is becoming an ordeal. It's been nearly two weeks since our first contact with the company and we don't even have a return address label yet!
I cannot recommend purchasing from WholeLatteLove.com. They have good prices and good selection, but when something goes wrong it is just too difficult to get the matter resolved. For something as expensive and complicated as an espresso machine it would be better to buy from a dealer who has a no-hassle exchange policy.
I am also a bit disappointed in CoffeeGeek.com and Home-Barista.com. WholeLatteLove.com is one of their main advertisers and is recommended frequently in their forums and reviews. It does not appear that either site is truly an unbiased source of information.
