It's spring and scarf season is over - so if you are a knitter - switch over to rectangular shawls. It's the same only a bit longer and wider! And you can use up leftover yarn by using a different yarn per each row or so.

This is great! Also, have a lot of baby yarn left over from making for new grand babies? Use baby yarn to make the shawls. Just adjust your hook or needle size to accommodate the yarn and then adjust the rows, stitches per row to accommodate too.
I recently made a baby yarn shawl for an elderly lady friend and she loved it. I'm told she wears it a lot. The baby yarn is light enough not to be heavy or hot, and oh so soft on the skin. You don't have to be a baby to enjoy baby yarn!
