Start With Room Temperature Water For Pasta

In an effort to reduce energy consumption, put your pot of pasta water up on the stove early in the day. Let it come to room temperature. When it's time to cook, it will take less time to boil.

And don't forget to cover the pot. It will come to a boil much faster!

if you boil your water and add your pasta when the water starts boiling, then take off heat and wait for 15 minutes your pasta will be perfect.....drain and serve with your favorite pasta sauce. of course with the thiner pastas like vermicelli or angle hair you would only steep for 5 minutes....adjust times for altitude please.
