Reusing Burner Covers

Once I purchased my flat-top stove, all those burner covers I had needed to be put to use. A few ideas are:

  • Flipped upside down, they can be put under plant pots for drainage. I have round individual ones but I also have a long rectangular one that holds six plants.

  • Upside down, put parchment paper or foil on and use to keep a Pavlova round.

  • Again, upside down, store your dishwashing supplies, cleaning supplies, etc. on them. Your perfumes and/or makeup also. If you have enough counterspace in your bathroom, place a small one there to hold your watch, earrings, etc. when washing up or ready to put on for the next day.

  • When I've filled up the ice cube trays I use the large rectangular one to carry them to the freezer. Upside down, of course.

  • Put some colourful mactac on the inside and use as a tray.

  • I'll pour my buttons from the jar on the 'tray' to sort through. Same with coins.

  • Using waterproof marker use as a marker for your vegetable patch in the garden.

  • I keep one filled with water on top of an old tree stump for the birds. There is not enough water in it by the next day to be wasteful. It's refilled and I have no worries about standing water.

  • Purchase a clock kit and make a kitchen clock. Any room where the picture may be appropriate. One set of mine had teddy bears on them. My friend had twins, boy and a girl, so I made clocks for each of them.

I'm sure there are tons more ideas, but those are just a few starting points of how useful those covers can be.
