When we don't have any leftovers for lunch, we have a sandwich. I got tired of a cold sandwiches, so I thought why not make a panini? Not having a panini press or sandwich maker, I thought I would try my George Foreman Grill. Well, it turned out so good, we look forward for a panini almost everyday.
I have used any kind of bread we may have, French, Italian, wheat, or just plain white. While I heat the grill, I get out all the things I want for the panini. Sometimes we use salami, ham, or bologna. I then use either Swiss cheese or any kind I may have on hand. You can also use some veggies, but we just make ours plain. We do use honey mustard. Once you put your sandwich together, put on hot grill, and close top. Cook until browned, usually by the time you fix your drink. So delicious and so many ways you can make it.
I have looked online and a panini grill cost about $50.00. The Foreman Grill was a gift for Christmas and you can use it for so many meals. I would say if you don't have one, it is a great investment. Also, you don't need any extra calories or fat on the bread. Try this! I am sure you will like it!

If there are just two of you, a smaller size works really well. I can make two sandwiches on mine or three nice sized hamburger patties.
I do this quite often. I might mention that if you buy a George Foreman grill, buy one with removable grates. They are sooooo much easier to clean.
