We have tried alcohol, it works a little and what ever we use has to come in contact with food so we have to be careful. Please help thanks.

This just might work. Get a pail and an old rag, fill with hot water, wet rag and ring out well. Wipe up muddy area and repeat until area is clean and free of mud.

As in household fridges etc. I would try plain white vinegar, full strength. It is food safe can be heated which may help with the removal of frozen or hardened mud.

Rinse afterward and repeat if necessary.

Try letting the mud dry and scraping it off with a plastic scraper or squeegee then sweeping it up.
