While grinding the urad dal in a wet grinder, for making idlis, it starts splashing. How can I avoid the splashing while grinding?

I am unsure if you are using a blender, or mixer or other device. If you are using a mixer, you can drape a dish towel over the mixer and bowl and that should prevent splashing.
Start with very little water. Add water little by little.
