I bought a shampoo for my rug cleaner, but it is creating a lot of suds how can I get rid of the suds?

Use any of the defoaming products available on the same shelf in the store as the shampoo.
You don't say what type of cleaner you have, but it may be possible to use vinegar as a defoaming agent-if you can do this, be sure to run at least two rinse cleanings over the carpeting to make sure you get all of the soap residue out.
Depends on how big of space you cleaned. You can always go around with a towel and dab the suds off.
