I keep looking at, and wanting to buy, a fresh pineapple, but I don't know what to look for to find a really good one. Can anyone guide me?

A pineapple is ripe and ready when you can easily pull off one of the leaves from the very top of the pineapple. If you can't pull it off, then you can still buy it and wait to eat it until you can do that. If the pineapple starts to get easy to squeeze and/or you see a bit of mold on the very bottom, it might still be good but you would want to use it right away after you buy it. If it no longer has any green color, or if it is getting extremely yellow, it might be too old.
