go to recipezaar.com and just on the recipe seach write in robert redford cake and a bunch of recipes will show up hope one of them is what you are looking for
This looks like it may have been the ORIGINAL one by that name:
wednesdaychef.typepad.com/
Sometimes a recipe NAME becomes popular and people attach that to their (totally different) recipe. Like the one for "Girdle Busters" which has a whole range of different recipes.
Here are some on google:
www.google.com/
If you have had the cake before and remember a few ingredients it would help to narrow it down more.
I had never heard of Robt Redford cake before. I just had to google him...I mean it.
;-)
Here is one I've had for many years, called
The Next Best Thing to Robert Redford
crust:
Mix and press into oblong pan:
1 cup flour
2 Tbs sugar
1 stick melted butter
Then sprinkle 1/2 cup chopped nuts over crust and press into dough. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees (burns easily), then cool
1st layer:
Mix and spread on crust:
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese
1 cup sugar
1/2 lb cool whip
Allow this to set up and proceed to layer 2
2nd layer:
I think this recipe is also called "Pastor's Delight."
Would this be the same recipe that I've heard called "Better Than Sex"? :o)
This one is called Next Best Thing to Robert Redford (sounds easy)
1c flour
1 c pecans, chopped
1 stick margarine
8 oz. cream cheese (soft)
1 c powdered sugar
Mix & spread first 3 items in a 9x13 inch pan & bake @350* for 15-20 mins. Next blend softened cream cheese & pdr. sugar and fold in 1/2 of the Cool Whip. Spread over cooled crust. Then combine vanilla & chocoate puddings together with milk; blend with mixer until firm. Spread pudding over the cream cheese & then spread remainder of Cool Whip on top. Grate the Hershey bar on top. Refgrigerate overnight.
This dessert also works well with pistachio pudding.
