Safe Alternative to Chemical Hair Dye?

Does hair dye cause cancer? What can I use in its place? I have graying temples and crown. Thank you.

Hair dye does not cause cancer.

What I have heard is that hair dye doesn't cause cancer. I would suggest using Nice'n Easy by Clairol (www.clairol.com) for getting rid of grays. I wouldn't suggest using Natural Instincts because when I tried it it had no effect on my stubborn hair.

Depending on your color you could use a henna wash. It's all natural, but you cannot use regular dye on it after that, so you might want to consult a beautician first.

If hair dye caused cancer, 90% of the women in America would be dead. It does not cause cancer.

I have used several brands -- Nice'n Easy, Natural Instincts, etc.

They are all good. Some might work better than others on certain types of hair.

Try Henna or maybe ammonia-free semi permanent colors like Natural Instincts

In September, I will be 60. I have colored my hair since I was 17 and i have never had cancer! If it did, I'd been long gone for years! It's not true!

PS: The brands of hair color, as with EVERYTHING, that works for one may not work for someone else. I have used Loreal, Nice & Easy and Clariol.

I continue with Loreal simply because it has the color I want.
