I need information on using Pine boards to create a kitchen counter top.

You could do it, but realize that pine is a soft wood and will not stand up to kitchen use as other more dense materials will. You'd have to sand it down, then use wood sealer and a clear varnish-- probably 3 coats. I found this fun article -- I could almost see pine in this kitchen! www.oldhouseweb.com/
