There really is a product out now to remove magic marker and other permanent markers. Look for it at any janitorial supply. Most towns have a janitorial supply that can help you solve those really impossible problems, like koolaid on the carpet. Quick window cleaning, and safety issues.

Uh, nothing removes the red dye in kool-aid, especially if the area has been exposed to heat so that the dye "sets", unless Kool-Aid has changed the formula. You could dye the section of carpet to match the original, though.
Permenent markers are just forms of alcohol, oil and dye, so anything which removes those...
I'm opposed to paying $15 for a 1oz. specialty product, which isn't all that special.
