Here's a cute tip for the frugal and festive folks: Use CD jewel cases as coasters for special occasions. Purchase seasonal/holiday cocktail napkins at a discount from the dollar store after the season has passed, insert them into empty jewel cases, and change with the occasions.

Cute idea but the only problem I see is since the case is plastic it won't absorb any "sweat" coming from the beverage container placed on it.
I think it's a lovely idea! Jewel cases are more than large enough that it won't matter if there's sweat on them compared to the size of plastic, glass or marble coasters on the market that you pay oodles of money for! The decorated jewel cases will be protecting the table just as well and look festive too! :-) Thumbs up :-)
