My husband and I only have two days vacation and wish to Iowa in August or September. Any suggestions for "points of interest" for a fun time on such a short vacation, that won't break the bank?

My husband and I really enjoy visiting the Amana Colonies. Lots of shops and great eating!
You'll have to go to Living History Farms!
ALSO Kalona. There is a Mennonite dairy there with the world's best cheese curds. Mild, so deeee-lish.
Don't forget the Iowa Great Lakes at Arnold's Park, Spirit Lake area. Beautiful lakes with boating, swimming, picnicing, great resturants, shopping, local history.
I would not waste your time or money going to the Grand Harbor waterpark resort in Dubuque! We were very disappointed in it when we were there in Feb. We have gone to the Wisconsin Dells quite a few times and it is really great! Lots of fun for all ages!
The Grotto of The Redemption in West Bend, Ia (north central) is worth seeing. (Free)
