The website www.thefamilyhomestead.com has several simple slow cooker recipes listed. Hope this helps.
Do what I did, join the slowcooker group on yahoo. I get so many good ideas for slow cooking.
Hi ~ Try this recipe a friend gave me a long time ago. It's sooooo easy ~
Crockpot Chicken Stroganoff
6 boneless chicken breasts
1 large container of sour cream
Mix all together and put into the crockpot. Cook on low for 4 - 6 hours or until chicken is tender. I serve this with either noodles or rice as you will have a nice sauce to pour over. And I also prepare a vege. too. Enjoy !
P.S. Of course you can alter this to make less, I also use fat free sour cream and healthier cream soup ! Your choice !
Beef Stroganoff
Layer the following
4-6 frozen cubed steaks, salted and peppered to taste
can of mushroom pieces, drained (if desired)
pakcage of lipton onion soup mix-sprinkled over th top
2 tablespoons water
Cook on high 6 hours or low 8-10 hours
when you come home, add a 16 oz container of sour cream (I prefer the regular FAT version)
CHicken and Rice
Layer frozen boneless chicken breasts or thighs, salted and peppered to taste
with one can cream of chicken soup and a can of mushroom pieces if desired
Cook 6 hrs on high or 8-12 on low
add sour cream, mix and serve over rice
My kids favorite meal!
For a beef roast, put the roast in the crockpot (or brown it in a skillet on the stovetop before putting it in the crockpot). Mix 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, an envelope of dry onion soup mix and 2 tablespoons of worchestershire sauce and pour over the roast. Cook 6-8 hours. Roast is very tender and delicious!
We love 'Cheesy Chicken' made in the crock-pot.
4 boneless/skinless chicken breasts
1 can cheddar cheese soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Mix the milk, cheddar cheese and cream of mushroom soups together in the crock-pot. Add the chicken breasts, cover, and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
Serve over rice or noodles.
For a 'cheesier' flavored dish add some cheese of your choice. We have tried Velveeta, ColbyJack, and Cheddar. They're all yummy!

Betty Crocker has a cookbook, "Easy slow cooker dinners". All of the recipes are great. They have good ones on their web site too.
