Cash for Gold

This is a good way to get extra money fast and when you need it. Look through your jewelry box and get out all the broken necklaces, old earrings (the ones you have lost a match too) or earrings you no longer like or wear. You can also sell bracelets, old charms, or even rings. If you ask, they will give you the money for the gold and you can keep the diamonds. I plan on having the diamonds reset into some earrings some day.

Instead of just letting it sit in your jewelry box, take it to a reputable jewelry store, and get some much needed cash for it. Gold is at a all time high, so if you need extra money for something, now is the time to get cash for gold! I recently took in some old jewelry and got enough money from it to get a new mattress that I desperately needed. I even had enough money to get several Christmas presents. Now is the time to cash it in and get a great price for your old gold. Happy Holidays.

You must really be careful of those Cash4Gold claims. I was really taken advantage of by one of the leading Cash4Gold dealers. If you want money for your old gold and jewelry, pawn it or ask a friend if they are interested in selling it to you.

I have picked up some pretty amazing pieces of jewelry from friends who were about to travel down that Cash4Gold aisle. BEWARE. Be sure the place is very reputable. Check with Angie's List, first.

These cash for gold places pay the pennyweight, not the ounce. To them it's the same as a lump of gold, not a fine piece of jewelry. I could say something like, "That $300 necklace is only worth $2.00 cash" - but I have no way of know how applicable this information is.

Consider that your gold is worth very little and taking it somewhere local instead of mailing it off, only to be told how little it's worth, and then being so exhausted about the whole project that you let it sell for a minuscule amount is a possibility.

If you mail it off, you may be tempted to accept the offer. Try local first, and find out how much per pennyweight it pays. Then compare offers.

Hi, this is why I said take it to a reputable jewelery store. I got quotes from 2 places, then I took the best price. The bracelet I sold brought me close to $500.00. I was very satisfied with the price. The jeweler told me the weigh and then gave me the price! I was very satisfied. Be careful where you take it. Thanks Dorothy

Thanks for the rundown on selling gold. It is hard to find advice that is worth anything because there are so many scammers in the cash for gold industry.
